Liverpool
from the Air
Jonathan C.K. Webb
Liverpool is a city with a wealth of history stretching
back over 800 years to its founding in 1207. Aerial
photography gives a unique insight into this wealth
of history while also showing the modern vibrant
city Liverpool has become.
Jonathan Webb of Webb Aviation Aerial Photography
has been documenting this changing face of the city
and assembling an archive of thousands of images
from which around 150 have been selected for this
book to show some of the most interesting views of
the city and its surroundings. Subjects range from
the world heritage site at Pier Head to some ordinary
looking suburban streets from which music emerged
that would change the world.
Using the latest professional digital photographic
cameras and specialist lenses allows the subjects
to be captured in a wealth of detail, even down to
people sitting on the famous ferry going across the
Mersey.
